TIMES MALANG, MADINAH – Indonesian Hajj officials are actively engaged in socialization and education efforts to the pilgrims. For instance, the Indonesian Hajj Office in Sector 1 Madinah conducted socialization and education sessions for pilgrims at the Grand Plaza Madinah Hotel on Sunday afternoon (28/5/2023).

The sessions were conducted by the Worship Guidance Service, Elderly Pilgrim Service, and Health Service. Socialization and education are being actively carried out by Indonesian Hajj officials.

KH. Aminuddin Sanwar, an official from the Worship Guidance Service in Sector 1, explained that they provide education on the importance of maintaining the physical well-being of the pilgrims during their worship. "Worship cannot be forced upon elderly individuals because their physical conditions vary," he stated.

He explained that there are various religious activities in Madinah. These include visiting the burial place of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), visiting the Baqi cemetery, performing the Arbain prayer (40 congregational prayers) at the Prophet's Mosque, visiting the Quba Mosque, Qiblatain Mosque, and Khandaq Mosque, as well as visiting Jabal Uhud. The activities in Madinah conclude with the intention and ihram at Bir Ali.

"All of these activities should be tailored to each individual's capabilities. Since the elderly have different levels of independence, it is important to consider their physical well-being and not force them," added KH. Aminuddin Sanwar.

He reminded pilgrims to prioritize their health. It is also recommended to always wear or carry sandals, and if staying in the mosque for a long time, it is advised to bring food and drinks.

"Perform the worship according to your abilities. If you are not capable, do not force yourself. In every act of worship, each pilgrim has their own individual capacity and capabilities, which differ," he emphasized.

"Allah always provides a way out. This is just the beginning and a Sunnah. There are still obligations in Makkah, so take care of your health. Do not rush to fulfill the recommended acts while neglecting or sacrificing the obligatory ones. Trust in Allah, who is compassionate and merciful," stated KH. Aminuddin Sanwar.

According to him, these socialization efforts will continue in all sectors of Sector 1. Nasrullah Jamaludin, an official from the Elderly Pilgrim Service in Sector 1 Madinah, stated that they continuously conduct socialization sessions regarding healthcare and worship for the elderly.

"Maintaining health is important and should not be overlooked because there are still many worship activities ahead that require optimal physical condition of the pilgrims in doing their hajj routine," he added. (*)
